My name is Psycho, and when I arrived at the Society I was short-tempered, sick and had lost my faith in man, after years of pulling wagons and being badly abused. Today I am healthy and even prone to smiling, thanks to the long rehabilitation that I underwent
Psycho, a 16 year old horse, had a very hard life for many years, suffering greatly from being harnessed to a wagon and forced to pull heavy loads, all without appropriate attention being given to his legs and hooves. When he reached the limit of his ability a complaint of neglect was filed in the Israeli Police following which he was confiscated and brought to the Society’s stables.
Psycho was in very poor condition: He was suffering from malnutrition, was lame, very scared and aggressive and tried to bite everyone who approached him. In addition, a chronic infection was diagnosed in the fetlock area of his four legs.
Now, following a long period of rehabilitation and intensive treatment with injections and analgesics, Psycho is back to his full strength and health and has become a friendly and gentle animal. According to veterinary recommendations he is not fit for work or intensive riding and is now enjoying a peaceful life in the company of his fellow horses in the Society’s Guest House for Horses.
After a long process of rehabilitation we found a new home for Psycho and today he lives in a nice farm run by responsible owners
