Festival of Light

Hanukah in the Society – Summary of the Education Department Activities

Last week the festive atmosphere was felt in the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in Israel. Throughout the whole week, the Department of Humanistic Education hosted many different groups of children. Some of the children came from protected shelters and boarding schools, there were children with special needs and even one group who celebrated their bar mitzvahs in the Society. The children participated in educational and creative activities, met the animals and made the dogs happy by taking them out for long walks.

Through the support of many kind people, we managed to raise enough money to buy the children gifts and other surprises and we wish to sincerely thank all those who contributed:
The French Bakery (18 Katzenelson Street, Givatayim)
The Baker from Bagdad (5 HaMetzudah Street, Azur)
Warm and Tasty (117 Rothschild Street, Rishon-le-Zion)
Mr Yossi Peleg, who donated wonderful soofganiot.
Humous Dani (8 Oleh Zion Street, the Jaffa Flea Market) – for the fresh falafel .
Felafel Ratzon from Holon for the generous servings of falafel.
Lezman Café (32 HaBanai Street, Holon) for the delicious pasties.
Tamar and Michael’s dad, Yaron Hachmi the Magician, for the wonderful performance.
Alice Neamof for the adorable dolls.
T4U Silkprints (11 Shvil HaMifal, Tel Aviv) for the colorful shirts.

Happy Hannuka

A very merry Hannuka party was held in the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in Israel

The Seventh Hannuka candle was lit in festive spirit in the Society with staff, volunteers, friends and their families. The festivities included activity centers for the children, a sing-along, lighting of the candles with a special wish for each one, and a magic show. Many of the families who came to share in the fun also adopted a dog or cat.

One special guest was Anita Palleli who brought snacks for all the resident cats and dogs in the Society. Anita was especially taken by Sun, a four-month-old, mix-breed terrier and, in an emotional approach to the crowd, she called on them to adopt Sun and offer her a warm and loving home.

We wish to thank the magician, Yaron Hakim and the guitarist, Eli Saharbany who voluntarily performed for us. Our thanks also go out to the team who organized this warm and exciting event.

A Bright Light

The Society invites the public to a special Hanukah party

Hanukah is the festival of light, miracles and great hope, which the abandoned animals, awaiting loving, adoptive homes, need so badly.

As it does every year, the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in Israel invites the public to celebrate the Festival of Light at a special, colorful Hanukah party for all the family. The party will take place on Monday, December 26, the sixth Hanukah candle, at 18:00 in the Society’s facility at 159 Herzl Street in Tel Aviv.

The children will be welcomed at activity corners where they will create handwork in keeping with the holiday spirit, join a sing-along with Eli Saharbani and enjoy light refreshments.

We look forward to seeing you amongst our guests.
