Over 400 cats and dogs were neutered and spayed in the past few months during the campaign organized by the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in Israel.

The campaign was made possible thanks to contributions made to the Society, by means of which these vital operations were subsidized, and made available to the public at particularly low prices in the Society’s clinics in Tel Aviv and Moshav Bnei Zion, Sharon. 59% of the total operations were for dogs (68% female and 32% male) and 41% for cats (61% female and 39% male).
The surgical procedures were carried out by the Society’s professional veterinarians, who carry out many such operations on a regular basis, making them some of the most highly experienced professionals in this field. The hundreds of operations that were carried out during the campaign contributed to the welfare of the cats and dogs who were treated, as well as preventing great suffering by preventing the birth of tens of thousands of kittens and puppies whose chances of finding adoptive homes were very slim.

Neutering and spaying are accepted procedures throughout the Western world, they are considered simple and straightforward, and the recovery rate is very fast. In addition to the fact that the owners of neutered/spayed cats and dogs do not have to deal with unwanted litters, these operations contribute to the animals’ health, enhance their quality of life, lengthen their lifespan, help to prevent aggressive behavior and prevent various diseases.

We wish to thank the public who responded to our call and brought their pets in for the operations.

Though the special offer has now come to a close, in the Society’s clinics situated in Tel Aviv and in Moshav Bnei Zion, in the Sharon district, our veterinarians continue to carry out these operations at far lower prices than those available at other veterinary clinics, and we call all pet owners whose pets have not been neutered or spayed, to make appointments for these important operations.
